Print Making

When picking the animal for this project I wanted to get an animal that wasn't commonly known, or comes to mind right away when you think of animals. A unique animal. While doing this project using the exacto knife and the linoleum cutter to evenly cut out my creature. The hard part was imagining in my head the parts that i wanted to stick out on my print and at the same time cutting. The easy part was the paint and  I thought that it turned out beautifly with the animal and the natural habitat that it survives in.

Photoshop Frog Tongue

This time while using photoshop I played aroound with the different tools that were explained in the video, and i really got an iea how photoshop worked. I am really warming up to photoshop I am getting better with the tools and with the effects like the shadow I made on the tongue really makes it come alive like its a photo of real life and not a painting or drawing. Especially now that I can make the colors blend it makes it look more natural and you can't tell that its photoshopped.

Photoshop Angry Pancakes

When i started making the changes to the mouth in order to insert the jaws I was having trouble making the distortions just the way I wanted them. The tools I was using were really hard to find a middle ground for the better of my picture. I also had trouble changing the picture colors the little slider wasn't getting the color or shade that I was aiming for. my experience while using this wasn't one of my best, I definetly could have tried to have changed it a little more and added enough detail to make it really come to life. Photoshop might not be my strength but if used more often im sure I will get the hang of it.

Stencil Painting

During this project me and a partner had the same picture to use, of us together. Though we had made two seperate copies and different color proportions, durng this project I felt I was a little behind so I rushed through the stencil tracing and might have missed a few key places to cut out, and so the spray paint covered parts of the face that were important. But at the end I went back and fixed any missing piece, when I took a step  back from my painting I see that it was actually a  really good representation of the stencils, you can see the overlapping and how all the colors blend, it was a success.

Contour Shoe drawing

Drawing the xhoe i thought got significantly better through out the opractices. The shoe looks flat but the way it was positioned this angle was the best way to portray the shoe. The hard part not being able to lift my pen and getting all the stitching in the middle of the shoe and not adding any unnessecary lines. The contour helped my lines look more even and smooth instead of scratchy like a sketch.

iPad art shapes

Not only was working on the iPad much faster when completing the picture but you had a lot better tools to smudge and fuse the colors together. When working on the iPad your able to smudge and get different shades of colors that you wouldn't be able to get with a select few of pastels to work with. I feel that compared to the drawing of shapes that I did on construction paper the one I did on the iPad had much better features. Technology is very important when it comes to art because not all art can be drawn on paper with a pencil or marker or a paintbrush. Art comes in all shapes and forms and technology is the one way we can capture all of that in one precise picture. Plus the iPad gives the drawing a glow you can't get with pastels.

Cartoon Skeleton Drawing

I chose Flit from the movie Pocahontas  when Mrs. Rossi said to choose a character that most people wouldn't think of I knew this would be a great choice. He doesn't have the normal human skeleton as you could tell instead of feet he had a tail, and instead of arms and hands he had wings. This character gave me a bit of a challenge as for his position. The lungs were sideways and were harder to draw. Either way this fun character has the potential of the human skeleton with a few exceptional  improvements.
